Father of Indian Civil Engineer -(Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya) and Engineers Day in India.


Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (1860-1962) was born in 15th sep 1860 in Muddenahalli, Mysore Karnataka. He was commonly known as Sir MV. Sir MV is also known as first civil engineer of India and statesman and 19th Diwan of Mysore. After independence he was also awarded by nation highest honor, the Bharat Ratna in 1955 as honorary member of London Institute of Civil Engineers.


As, Sir MV was 1st Civil Engineer of India he is also known as Father of Civil Engineer in india. He was the most popular person of Karnataka. He has received recognition and awards in various fields. Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belagavi has been named in his honour and respect. Two metro stations and and others various colleges are also named in his honour. He worked in various Universities of India and he was was also the chief Engineer of Krishna Raja Sagara dam in North west of mysuru city and aslo worked as Chief Engineer of flood protection system in Hyderabad. Sir MV died in 14th April 1962 at the age of 101 in Bangalore, Karnataka India. Every year India celebrate Engineer's Day on sep 15 as the birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
